CO26: Epidemiology, quality of life and mhealth

The group is essentially oriented towards research related to clinical and social epidemiology focused on chronic pain of different causes, analyzing the factors associated with the disease, those related to the lack of response to treatment and its consequences on the family, social environment and sanitary. In addition, we have started a line based on the use of new m-health technologies to improve the health outcomes of patients suffering from chronic pain. In the group we are concerned with developing and applying new data analysis methods to improve the validity of health results. Due to the multidisciplinary nature of the group, we have 2 mathematicians with knowledge in complex data analysis techniques; a sociologist with experience in qualitative methodology, focused on the perspective of the population and the experience of patients; a general health psychologist; a physiotherapist who has actively collaborated in the design and development of rehabilitation-oriented m-health systems; and two specialists in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the UCA, with extensive experience in studies related to the epidemiology of pain and in the management of working groups.

Likewise, we have incorporated a National Child Pain Network where we hope to obtain results in this specific group of patients.
