EM21: INPECA (Research in Pediatrics in Cádiz)

Research group that began in 2011 with the granting of a research grant in an independent call from the Ministry of Health. The project ended in 2016 with an important scientific production. Since the end of the project, they have worked on two fundamental lines (inflammation and sedo-analgesia) and have gradually established themselves as a group. Two years ago, another researcher with a similar profile and with a line of research in inflammation in line with ours joined the group. Currently the group is made up of researchers with experience of more than 5 years, with a majority of researchers having less than 5 years of research experience.

• Sedo-analgesia line: In this line, the action of the different drugs available for sedo-analgesia and their safety profile are investigated.
• Biomarkers line: In this line, the usefulness of various biomarkers in determining the evolution of different diseases of patients admitted to the hospital ward and the PICU is investigated.
• Line of application of new technologies in inflammatory diseases: In this line, the application of technologies such as ultrasound to determine different evolutionary risk factors in patients with different inflammatory diseases is investigated.
