Central Research Support Services

The central research support services are made up of all of INiBICA's common scientific services, infrastructures and equipment, which provide technical and methodological support and advice to INiBICA's researchers, as well as to external researchers upon request.

The main objective of these services is to guarantee the maintenance and correct functioning of the different instrumental techniques and to ensure that researchers and companies can access to such techniques by means of expert advice on their use and performance.

The Research Unit of the University Hospital "Puerta del Mar" (U.I.H.U.P.M.), located in the central corridor of the 9th floor, has around 650 m2 of laboratory facilities. In recent years, the Research Unit has acquired equipment that has been financed by means of infrastructure grants (ERDF funds...) and research projects granted to the various research groups by different national and regional agencies (FIS, Department of Health of the Junta de Andalucía, Department of Economy , Innovation & Science of the Junta de Andalucía, among others).

The Central Services for Research in Biomedicine (SC-IBM) of the University of Cadiz was established in 1994 and were subsequently renewed thanks to its relocation and the installation of equipment obtained within the framework of the Incentives for the Improvement of Infrastructures and Equipment of the Agents of the Andalusian Knowledge System, the Subprogramme of Projects of Scientific and Technological Infrastructure co-financed with the European Regional Development Fund, the Programme for the Strengthening of Capacities in R+D+i and the Call for Scientific and Technological Infrastructure. Thanks to the collaboration agreement with the University of Cadiz, INiBICA's researchers are considered an "internal users" of the University of Cadiz, with access and rates similar to the University staff.

Both institutions have the technology, equipment and knowledge necessary to be at the forefront of research.
