Lines of research
  • Bacterial resistance:
    • - The problem of bacterial resistance has become a global health problem. The group actively participates in action programs that have recently emerged to combat the inappropriate use of antibiotics (María Recuerda Núñez).
  • Pneumonia and inflammatory response:
    • - The SARS-CoV-2 epidemic has resurrected the concept of the cytokine-mediated inflammatory response. For more than a decade we have been investigating the inflammatory response in pneumonia, in fact it was the subject of Dr Estella's doctoral thesis and a line of research of the group.
