Grupo de investigación compuesto por profesionales con dilatada experiencia en las enfermedades infecciosas. El Dr. Estella actualmente es coordinador del Grupo de Trabajo de Enfermedades Infecciosas de la Sociedad Andaluza de Medicina Intensiva y Unidades Coronarias. Las Dras. Cañadas y Recuerda están realizando sus tesis doctorales y poseen una amplia experiencia en los cuidados del paciente crítico.

Líneas de investigación
  • Resistencias bacterianas:
    • – El problema de las resistencias bacterianas se ha convertido en un problema de salud global. El grupo participa activamente en programas de actuación han surgido recientemente para combatir el uso inadecuado de antibióticos (María Recuerda Núñez).
  • Neumonía y respuesta inflamatoria:
    • – La epidemia por SARS-CoV-2 ha resucitado el concepto de la respuesta inflamatoria mediada por citoquinas. Desde hace más de una década llevamos investigando la respuesta inflamatoria en las neumonías, de hecho fue el tema de la tesis doctoral del Dr Estella y una línea de investigación del grupo.
