Acoustic Engineering Laboratory

The INiBICA IN-AS20 "Acoustics Laboratory" research team is associated with the "Perinatal Brain Injury" group, and is also recognized by PAIDI with the reference TEP 195, "Acoustics and Vibrations Laboratory", whose principal investigator is Dr. Ricardo Hernández Molina, head of the University Department of Thermal Machines and Engines. To his credit he has a large number of research projects that can be seen in the curriculum attached as annexes to this Report, in electronic format (PDF).

The team set up to carry out this Project is a multidisciplinary team in which research professors from the University of Cádiz and the Pediatric Intercentre Clinical Management Unit of the Puerta del Mar University Hospital in Cádiz (Andalusian Health Service) participate. This collaboration between both teams has been carried out for several years, in which 4 impact articles have been published in journals indexed in JCR and 6 communications to national and international congresses.

  • Bioacoustics, Noise effects and control, Psychological acoustics. The objective of this line of work is to determine the relationship between sound pressure levels and the main physiological variables of the neonate recorded simultaneously (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, heart rate and encephalogram) in order to be able to assess the existence or not of , of stress levels that may affect the development of newborns.
