Affiliation Policy
The lack of standardization regarding the Authors of scientific Publications and their institutions reduces the visibility of their research output and authorship—as well as that of the institution(s) to which they belong—in major bibliographic databases, leading to losses in information retrieval, such as the impact of Publications, as measured by citations. As bibliometric reliability declines, therefore, it becomes more complex to analyze data for the purposes of science policy and institutional strategy—based on productivity, scientific and technological impact, or rankings, among other factors.
The INiBICA Administration has prepared a document containing guidelines designed to promote the use of a single signature by Authors and the correct institutional affiliation, with the aim of ensuring optimal indexing in databases and facilitating the tracking of the Institute’s scientific output.
