📚✨ Book Presentation: *The Boy Who Made His Debut and Became a Magician* ✨📚

📘🏫 Last Monday, CEIP Josefina Pascual Cádiz (@ceipjosefinapascual) hosted a presentation in its classrooms of the book 🪄“The Boy Who Made His Debut and Became a Magician”🪄 by its author, Mar Ramírez de la Rubia (@mar_ramirez_81), who used a fun approach to help students better understand diabetes through the true story of little Hugo and how he coped with the disease, highlighting the power of magic and resilience. 🤝 Here at INiBICA, we’ve collaborated with the authors to make this project a reality. In addition, all proceeds from the book’s sales will go toward the research efforts of INiBICA’s CO1 group, led by Alfonso Lechuga, which focuses on childhood diabetes 🔬🧒🏻 💙💫 This book is both a result of and an example of the importance of public participation in the institute’s Lines of research and strategy. 🔗 More information: Instagram

On October 8, the First Jerez Science Conference was held, organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC – @contraelcancer.es) in Jerez in collaboration with the Jerez City Council, the Cádiz Provincial Council, and other institutions and companies 🤝 🗣️📚 This event, designed to educate researchers, professors, college students, healthcare professionals, patients, volunteers, family members, and the general public, brought together various scientists from Jerez who are pursuing research careers in the field of oncology. The goal was to shed light on the different stages of a scientific career and to inspire young people to pursue careers in this field. Maximum of 30 attendees per session. 🏢 Location: Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar (classroom subject to availability). On September 24, in observance of World Cancer Research Day, our colleague José Manuel Baena—coordinator of the Onco-Hematology program and Principal Investigator (PI) of the EM13 group at INiBICA, as well as chief of the medical oncology department at the Hospital HUPM —was interviewed by Onda Cádiz. 💉🧫 During the interview, we discussed the importance of sharing advances in cancer research with the public, the various groups and Lines of research dedicated to cancer research at INiBICA and throughout the province, and the current application of AI—all with the goal of improving future treatments for patients and enhancing the quality of life for both patients and their families. 👉 Want to learn more? 🚶‍♀️🤝 Walking Together: An Initiative to Promote Health and Well-Being 🤝🚶‍♂️

Algeciras ’s School of Nursing organized the First National Conference on Health Sciences Research, “Walking Together,” on September 19 and 20. 🎯 The conference aimed to promote research in health sciences, particularly in the Campo de Gibraltar region, as well as to establish and strengthen collaboration among various national research groups. 🏅🧬 We at INiBICA would like to congratulate our CO1 research group INMOX for receiving the conference’s award for the best biomedical research poster. 👩‍🔬💬 In addition, we had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion on securing public-private funding for research. Dr. Esther Berrocoso Domínguez (Deputy Scientific Director), Dr. Itziar Peñafiel Andrés (Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Internationalization Manager), and Ms. Diana Regueiro Catalán ( Projects Management Lead) jointly analyzed the various regional, national, and international funding calls and presented a series of recommendations to keep in mind when drafting and submitting research proposals. 🔗 More information: Instagram
