The CTS-1111 Research Group, “ CO23: , Genetics, and Neurodegenerative Diseases,” led by Dr. Ana Belén Muñoz Manchado and affiliated with the University of Cádiz and the Institute for Biomedical Research at Cádiz (INIBICA), is seeking a candidate interested in applying for a competitive fellowship Juan de la Cierva to carry out a 2-year postdoctoral project.
The group focuses its research on understanding the genetic mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases. It is currently concentrating on two main Lines of research : understanding the pathology of Parkinson's disease and investigating the role of the striatum in cell-type-specific neurodegenerative diseases through the application of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), using both human samples and genetic models.
The candidate would join the group and be responsible for single-cell data analysis, as well as actively participating in the group’s other Lines of research .
Essential requirements:
- Candidates must hold a Ph. Title 's degree in biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience using bioinformatics tools to analyze data obtained from single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
- Experience with programming languages used in bioinformatics (Python, Bash scripting, R, etc.).
- Have the necessary training to work with laboratory animals.
- Contributions to Publications and scientific communication.
