CO12: Neuroimaging and Psychophysiology
The group is a multidisciplinary team led by a Ramón y Cajal researcher and composed of various pre- and postdoctoral researchers and clinical researchers, including psychologists, biologists, specialists in clinical neuroscience, as well as a large group of neurologists and neurosurgeons. The group’s overall objective is to study the biological basis and brain mechanisms responsible for the pathological symptoms in various neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and chronic migraine, among others. To this end, the researchers use innovative tools and cutting-edge methodologies, including high-density EEG recordings, intracranial recordings in patients, peripheral measurements such as eye tracking, advanced analysis of structural or functional MRI, as well as various brain stimulation techniques, including transcranial magnetic stimulation and deep brain stimulation.

- Line 1: Human cognition and cognitive decline.
╸ Assessment of the neural basis of cognitive processes (e.g., executive functions, attention) using electrophysiological and neuroimaging techniques; Design of new cognitive tasks.

╸ Use of various neuromodulation techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and transcranial static magnetic stimulation (tSMS), in healthy subjects and those with neurological disorders.
