This course presents European and Spanish regulations relevant to research personnel regarding the inclusion of sex/gender analysis in research Projects (Horizon Europe, the National Call for Proposals, and the Joint Action Call), as well as the position of scientific publishers. In response to these regulations, the course describes the main gender biases in research, ways to overcome them, and how to incorporate sex/gender analysis into each phase of the research. The course concludes with an evaluative exercise involving the review of a participant’s own project (or research already conducted). |
| Objectives |
To enhance the skills of research staff in incorporating sex/gender analysis into research Projects and the scientific articles that may result from such research. This will improve the quality of the research and increase its chances of success. To familiarize research staff with the incorporation of sex- and gender-based analysis into each phase of the research process, from choosing the research question and selecting the sample to analyzing the results and their subsequent publication or registration at Patents. To highlight the main gender biases inherent in conventional research and their effects on the quality of such research. To examine the importance of incorporating a gender perspective into various fields of research and to present specific examples of what gender analysis entails in those fields. |

At the request of the teaching staff and due to available resources, enrollment in this first edition will be limited to 20 spots. Initially, and to ensure institutional equity, 10 spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to UCA INiBICA staff and 10 spots to SAS/ Fundación INiBICA staff, with a limit of one person per research group. If the capacity is not filled by the deadline, the remaining spots will be assigned strictly in the order of registration, regardless of the employer of the person who has expressed interest. |
