EM24: Interdisciplinary Research Group on Infectious Diseases and Comprehensive Health (GIEISI)

The group was formed with the goal of studying the health consequences of infectious diseases and associated pathologies from an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspective, bringing together professionals from different fields of expertise to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their origin, progression, and impact. Furthermore, the group aims to highlight the importance of addressing these diseases from a clinical standpoint, while also incorporating a perspective centered on the health and well-being of those who suffer from them. In this regard, it is essential to analyze how these diseases and their comorbidities affect people throughout their entire life course, taking into account their physical, biological, psychological, and social repercussions, and incorporating a gender perspective. Similarly, the report underscores the importance of comprehensive care, prevention, and health promotion, as well as the need to analyze the potential medical and psychosocial consequences that these diseases may have on both those affected and their social environment.
