EM26: Pathobiology

Team composed of medical experts in histology and tissue engineering, condensed matter physicists, experts in nanostructured materials, engineers specializing in simulation systems, and oral surgeons. The group's line of work consists of designing and characterizing new materials using sol-gel methodology for clinical application, promoting bone regeneration through the implementation of techniques to create a product (biomaterial) that induces bone tissue formation and, therefore, osseointegration, solving a clinical requirement such as bone defects and thus recovering the functionality of the affected area, thus integrating into the field of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. In short, it is a novel line of research in the province of Cádiz biomedicine, materials science, clinical practice, and computer simulation, which together imply a capacity for translational research to solve clinical problems.
