🤝 The Unicaja Foundation and INiBICA presented this award, worth 10,000 euros, to a project for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia. The award ceremony, held as part of the Blue Zone Forum–@innovazulcadiz 2024 conference, was attended by Javier Vela, representing the Unicaja Foundation; the regional delegate of the Andalusian Regional Government’s Department of Health and Consumer Affairs, representing INiBICA, @evapajaresruiz; the Vice Rector for Health Sciences and Well-being at the University of Cádiz, @isabenaventef; and the project’s researcher, Francisco García Cózar, who currently leads INiBICA’s consolidated translational research group CO10, “Molecular Immunology and Gene and Cellular Immunotherapy.”
🔬🐟 In this first edition, the award went to the “BlueCar” project, which aims to develop an innovative platform using nanobodies (a special type of antibody) derived from an abundant fish species with limited commercial use, in order to improve an immunotherapy for the treatment of this disease.
