🫁 INiBICA is leading pioneering studies on silicosis associated with artificial stone, which have made the province of Cádiz an international leader in this field. At INiBICA, we are coordinating various initiatives that are resulting in numerous Publications in high-impact-factor journals and scientific achievements aimed at improving patient survival and quality of life, as well as identifying the components of artificial stone that may be most harmful to workers—so that these can be avoided during manufacturing and the materials can be made safer for workers.
👨🔬🔬From INiBICA, the following researchers are participating in the study: Dr. Antonio León Jiménez, Head of the Pulmonology Unit at the Hospital General de Almería ( HUPM ) and Principal Investigator (PI) of the CO3 group at INiBICA; Dr. Antonio Campos Caro from the CO2 Inflammatory Diseases group at INiBICA; and Dr. Daniel Sánchez Morillo from the CO7 Bioengineering group at INiBICA.
🤝 We at the Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation at Cádiz would like to publicly emphasize that the collaboration of all the research groups, along with the unwavering support and participation of patients and the National Association of People Affected by and Suffering from Silicosis, serves as an incentive to address the health issues faced by these individuals, who have fallen ill simply because of their work.
