Healthcare professionals gathered on Tuesday at the Punta de Europa University Hospital in Algeciras Cádiz) for a Primary Care and Healthcare Research Conference, an event organized by the Cádiz Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation Cádiz INiBICA) together with the Campo de Gibraltar Oeste Healthcare Management Area, which seeks to promote the participation of primary care professionals in Projects .
The regional delegate for Health and Consumer Affairs, Eva Pajares, was responsible for opening the conference, alongside the manager of the Health Area, Jesús Fernández, and the scientific director of INiBICA, Manuel Aguilar, as reported by the Regional Government of Andalusia in a press release.
Pajares highlighted the Regional Ministry's support for R&D&I in health, which will see a "2.5% increase in its budget compared to last year." The province of Cádiz 77 INiBICA research groups, with a total of 977 professionals affiliated with the Institute, distributed across six scientific programs, namely Neuroscience and Behavior, Inflammation, Onco-hematology, Public Health and Epidemiology, Innovative and Emerging Procedures and Therapies, and Marine Resource-based Health.
The event served to present the call for research proposals from the Progress and Health Foundation of the Regional Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, as well as the Projects led Projects this entity in the province of Cádiz.
This meeting also featured a round table discussion in which professionals from the Campo de Gibraltar East, Jerez, Northwest Coast, Sierra de Cádiz Campo de Gibraltar West Management Areas discussed what it means to conduct research in the field of primary care. Finally, INiBICA's own 2023 Plan Projects Primary Projects and Health Care lines and Projects was presented.
