The representative of the Regional Government in Cádiz, Mercedes Colombo, today announced the ten winners of the Andalusian Flags award in the province of Cádiz the year 2024. Among them are José Antonio Girón, professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Cádiz head of the Department of Internal Medicine at the Puerta del Mar Hospital in Cádiz, and the CEI·Mar Global Campus of International Excellence. The ceremony will be held on February 24, starting at 11:00 a.m., at the Cádiz Conference Center.

The Andalusian Flag for Research, Science, and Health has been awarded to Dr. José Antonio Girón González, first director of the Institute for Research and Innovation in Biomedical Sciences in the province of Cádiz INiBICA), who was part of the external advisory committee for management assessment and improvement proposals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

And the Andalusian Flag for Environmental Merit has been awarded to CEI·Mar, coordinated by the UCA. The regional institution has highlighted that the Campus of International Excellence of the Sea is one of the largest scientific and business clusters in Spain and the world, with partners from Andalusia, southern Portugal, and northern Morocco in the marine-maritime field.
