The candidate will join the Perinatal Brain Damage Group CO-20, which focuses on the study of neonatal neurological pathology (http://inibica.com/co20-danocerebral-perinatal/).

Our group's main interest is the study of the neurobiological basis of neurodevelopmental disorders observed in newborns at high risk of suffering from them. We focus on two subpopulations of newborns who are more neurologically vulnerable: full-term newborns exposed to perinatal asphyxia who develop hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and preterm newborns. We use various advanced neuroimaging techniques, primarily ultrasound (3D brain ultrasound, power Doppler, etc.) and magnetic resonance imaging (DWI, DTI), to study the development of different brain structures. We study the association between various biochemical and clinical factors and socioeconomic status and neurodevelopment. Neurodevelopmental assessment is performed at two, four to six, and eight years of age.

The selected candidate will have an excellent opportunity to combine clinical research with learning image segmentation techniques (brain ultrasound and MRI) and to be part of a longitudinal cohort of preterm patients being recruited through Projects have obtained funding in Projects regional, national, and international Projects .

Allocation of €30,000 for the first two years and €35,000 for the third year as gross salary remuneration.

Degree in Medicine, Psychology, Nursing, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology.

• Have obtained a doctorate after January 1, 2019.
• Having completed the thesis in a group and center different from the group to which you are joining.

• Appear in Publications January 1, 2018 as first author, senior author, and/or corresponding author.
• Having completed placements at national or international centers.
• Have completed the FSE or have completed a Río Hortega contract.
• Participation in related Projects .
