Health and Families allocates €2.5 million in funding for Projects
This funding will finance a total of 20 Projects a maximum duration of three years, covering both Lines of research and public-private partnerships.
During 2021, €6.4 million has been allocated to finance competitive Projects .
La Consejería de Salud y Familias de la Junta de Andalucía ha concedido 2,5 millones de euros para la financiación de la Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación (I+D+i) en Biomedicina y Ciencias de la Salud, a través de la resolución de la convocatoria de subvenciones en régimen de concurrencia competitiva, del 7 de julio de 2021, publicada en el BOJA núm. 135, de 15 de julio de 2021 (Junta de Andalucía).
In accordance with the strategic priorities of the Regional Ministry of Health and Families, this aid is intended to finance Projects emerging groups; Projects research Projects on COVID-19; Projects on advanced therapies, including cells modified to express chimeric antigen receptors (CAR-T); personalized Projects ; the participation of women; Projects and innovation Projects in public health; and Projects research Projects on rare diseases.
The call for proposals provided for the funding of two types of Projects. On the one hand, €1.5 million was allocated to general health Projects , which will be used to fund 14 Projects a maximum duration of three years.
On the other hand, the public-private partnership Projects and innovation Projects category, which is being held for the second consecutive year, has been allocated €1 million for the development of six Projects a maximum duration of three years. These Projects also Projects funding from private entities, following the signing of a collaboration agreement between the research foundations benefiting from the grants (FIBAO, FISEVI, Fundación de Cádiz, Fundación Progreso y Salud) and private companies in the healthcare or biotechnology sector (MIRNAX BIONENS SL, Nanogetic, ASCDx SA, COCEMFE Toledo Servicios Múltiples, SL, E-PROCESS-MED, SL, and ATOS IT SOLUTIONS AND SERVICES IBERIA SL).
Public-private partnerships offer several advantages and synergies, as the healthcare system provides up to 50% of the funding, as well as infrastructure and highly qualified research personnel. For their part, private entities contribute to the efficiency and optimization of resources, innovation in new methodologies, tools, and experiences from other fields.
Balance:
With this call for proposals, which has just been resolved, the Regional Ministry of Health and Families has allocated more than €6.4 million to Projects in 2021. In addition, the final call for proposals, with €3.3 million in funding for the recruitment of junior and senior postdoctoral research staff, remains to be resolved in 2022.
In addition, the Regional Government of Andalusia has allocated a total of €20.6 million to biomedical and health sciences research from the Andalusia ERDF Program 2014-2020.
These figures highlight the significant commitment made by the Regional Government of Andalusia to promoting this strategic sector, which has a direct impact on improving and solving the health problems of citizens.
