Our researcher Daniel Sánchez Morillo participated yesterday in the workshop on artificial intelligence applied to clinical and biomedical research 🔎🩻, where he shared his experience in this field as part of the scientific conference “Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Omics in Clinical and Biomedical Research” 🧬🔬, held at the School of Nursing and Physical Therapy at the University of Cádiz. 🌍💬 A couple of days ago, a meeting was held for the managers of the International Projects s of the Network of Foundations Managing Biomedical Research in the Andalusian Public Health System (RFGISSPA). 🗣️ During the event, participants shared progress and results, attended practical workshops on the justification and monitoring of Projects, and discussed challenges for collaborative work in 2025. 🔗 More information: Instagram

Last week, INiBICA attended the Second Conference on ISCIII Platforms Supporting R&D&I in Biomedicine and Health Sciences, held in Lleida from October 28 to 30. 👨‍🔬👩‍🔬 As with the first edition hosted by our institute, the event once again brought together more than 400 professionals. The conference is organized by three platforms of the National Health Research and Innovation Network ( ISCIII), of which INiBICA is a member as an associate center through IMIBIC and as the central biobank node of the SSPA (FPS): Biomodels and Biobanks Platform (P_ISCIII_BB), Platform for the Promotion and Innovation of the National Health System’s (SNS) Industrial Capabilities (ITEMAS), and Support Platform for Independent Clinical Research (SCReN). Over the course of these three days, various activities took place, including presentations, workshops, and networking sessions. Some of the highlights included: ✔️ The convergence of platforms under the coordination of the ISCIII. ✔️ The regulation of advanced therapies. ✔️ The transfer of scientific knowledge to industry and society. ✔️ The development of clinical trials and the sharing of patient data. 🚀 This year’s event also featured participation from leading European research infrastructures: BBMRI-ERIC, ECRIN, and EATRIS. 🔗 More information: Instagram

The Vice Rector for Health Sciences and Well-Being at the UCA University Community and Co-Principal Investigator of INiBICA’s CO20 Group on “Neonatal Brain Injury” will be honored by the City Council of Cádiz with this award, according to an announcement made today by the Cádiz City Council following a joint proposal from all groups, which will be submitted to the Honors and Distinctions Committee. 🏥🏆 This Saturday, the Cádiz Medical Association presented the 10th annual “Medicina Gaditana” Awards to INiBICA, Dr. Manuel Benítez Blanco, and the Pascual Hospital Group. 🏅 This award recognizes colleagues and institutions that excel in the field of medicine and embody values such as professionalism, competence, a spirit of service, and leadership, among others, and whose work benefits the medical profession and/or healthcare. 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ INiBICA received the award in the Teaching and Research category, accepted by its Director, Julio Ríos, who thanked the Medical Association “for promoting the continuous improvement of our activities,” in addition to highlighting the patient care and attention that this Institute provides through its research, which he described as “the greatest boost—both qualitatively and quantitatively—that Cadiz society has ever received” and as “a fundamental tool for attracting talent.” We are very proud! 💙 🔗 More information: Onda Cádiz || Instagram

This event will feature two panel discussions moderated by: 👨‍⚕️ Dr. Marcial García Rojo (Coordinator of the INIBICA Scientific Program on Innovative and Emerging Procedures and Therapies), Head of the Pathology Unit at the University Hospital of Jerez de la Frontera. The discussion will address AI from various perspectives (business, SAS , and research). 👩‍⚕️ And Dr. Ana I. Arroba (Coordinator of the INiBICA Scientific Program on Inflammation), head of the INiBICA CO-17 group. 🛰️TADIS Cross-Innovation Workshop👨‍🚀👩‍🚀 The first cross-innovation event we organized at INiBICA was a total success 🚀 From Airbus to Navantia, S.A., and SMEs, as well as universities, hospitals, technology centers, and startups, we joined forces to transform healthcare with industrial and aerospace technologies 🌐 🤝 Plenty of ideas were exchanged, Projects s were born, and… who knows! 📘🏫 Last Monday, CEIP Josefina Pascual Cádiz (@ceipjosefinapascual) hosted a presentation in its classrooms of the book 🪄“The Boy Who Made His Debut and Became a Magician”🪄 by its author, Mar Ramírez de la Rubia (@mar_ramirez_81), who used a fun approach to help students better understand diabetes through the true story of little Hugo and how he coped with the disease, highlighting the power of magic and resilience. 🤝 Here at INiBICA, we’ve collaborated with the authors to make this project a reality. In addition, all proceeds from the book’s sales will go toward the research efforts of INiBICA’s CO1 group, led by Alfonso Lechuga, which focuses on childhood diabetes 🔬🧒🏻 💙💫 This book is both a result of and an example of the importance of public participation in the institute’s Lines of research and strategy. 🔗 More information: Instagram
