🎓🔬 Event: “A Career in Research: Explore Your Options” 🔬🎓

🧬🔬🌟 On June 19, we held the training workshop: “A Career in Research: Explore Your Options.” The event was attended by 30 participants, and at INiBICA—recognizing how important it is for researchers to plan their future careers—we shared insights and practical recommendations with the various speakers on opportunities both within and outside of conventional academic research 🗣️💬 👨‍🔬We also covered different ways to improve your resume and identify skills gained through a PhD that are valuable in the professional world. These workshops are part of INiBICA’s and the Biomedical Foundation of Cádiz ’s commitment to staff training and the promotion of scientific careers. 🏆 Additionally, we awarded a prize for the highest correct answer rate in the competitive quiz. ✨ It was a very comprehensive training morning focused on our research staff, research careers, and professional development! 🏅 This training session is part of the efforts to implement the HRS4R (Human Resources Strategy for Researchers) seal of excellence recently awarded to INiBICA. 🔗 More information: Instagram

📣 NEWS | 💼🧑‍🎓 On June 10, the Governing Council appointed, at the recommendation of the scientific director, two new Deputy Scientific Directors for our Institute of Health Research. 👩‍🔬 Dr. Esther Berrocoso, principal investigator of the established Neuropsychopharmacology and Psychobiology group UCA-INiBICA(ciberSAM) and professor in the Department of Pharmacology at UCA, was appointed as the new deputy director of translational research. 🧑‍🔬 Dr. Simón Lubián, principal investigator of the established Perinatal Brain Injury group, associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the UCA, and head of the Neonatology Section at the Hospital de la Universidad de Córdoba ( Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar), was appointed as the new deputy director of clinical research. 🎯 The roles of the deputy scientific directors are to support the Scientific Director in monitoring and designing the institute’s scientific strategy and to carry out their duties at the request of the Scientific Director or the Institute’s Governing Council, in order to ensure compliance with the objectives of INiBICA’s current agreement. 🙌💙 Welcome to the Team management team and thank you for your commitment! 🔗 More information: Instagram

Her work focuses on helping institutions and researchers communicate science visually through her project @CireniaSketches. 🎨🔬 👩‍🔬 Science communication plays a fundamental role in society. By making science more accessible, we contribute to informed decision-making on such important issues as health. In this session, we’ll discuss the keys to effectively conveying scientific knowledge to diverse audiences. 🫀💚 June 5: National Organ and Tissue Donor Day 💚🫀

🏥 Con motivo de este día queremos destacar que el Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar de Cádiz (@hupmcadiz) practicó durante el año 2023 un total de 110 trasplantes de riñón. La cifra supone un 25% más que en 2022 (cuando se realizaron 88, más que en 2021), y marcando un récord histórico ya casi crónico. 🩺 🫁 La donación de órganos salva vidas, mejora la calidad de vida de los receptores y es un acto de generosidad que refleja solidaridad que permite a muchas personas superar enfermedades graves.
