🧬 Although they are still in the minority. At the University of Cádiz (UCA), there are 2,202 researchers, of whom 994 are women, representing 45.1 percent. Esther Berrocoso and Marta Ferreiro are two of them, and through their work, they have become role models for future generations.

💜 Esther Berrocoso, a native of Jerez with an islander’s heart, is a member of the Neuropsychopharmacology and Psychobiology group in the Department of Neuroscience, which focuses on the nervous system, and she is also the Deputy Director of Translational Science at INiBICA. Berrocoso focuses her efforts on the mental health of the general population and, specifically, on that of patients with chronic illnesses.

💜 Marta Ferreiro, for her part, combines teaching and research as a member of the AGR291 group—Analytical Tools in Viticulture, Agri-Food, and Forensic Chemistry—in the Department of Analytical Chemistry. This group collaborates with the Forensic Science Department of the Scientific Police and the Chemistry Department of the Civil Guard.

🚀 Both strive to pass on their enthusiasm to future generations by participating in activities organized by the UCA and INiBICA for 11F, or in other forums.
