The Los Gallos and El Lugar health centers, located in Chiclana, will be pioneers in their implementation in the field of primary care in Andalusia.

This initiative, led by Professor Alejandro Galán Mercant, physiotherapist of the MOVE-IT research group, in coordination with managers of the health centers involved, directors and doctors Rosa María Llerena Guerrero and María Jesús Cobo Ocaña, and nursing care coordinator Elisa Muiño Aguilar, and funded by the University of Cádiz INiBICA, aims to address one of the major challenges facing public health today: the aging population and the increase in dependency among the elderly.

To do this:

✅ They will offer new cost-effective strategies to reduce dependency.
✅ They will improve the mental and physical health of the elderly population to alleviate the burden on the public health system.
✅ They will generate valuable scientific knowledge, promoting the development of new public policies on healthy aging, in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
