On June 25, 2026, the Auditorium at the University Hospital “ Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar ” will host the Conference on Movement Disorders: From Biology to Neuromodulation, a multidisciplinary event focused on diagnostic and therapeutic advances in neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s and other movement disorders.
The conference, organized by the Movement Disorders Unit at the HUPM in collaboration with INiBICA, will bring together specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neurophysiology, anesthesiology, and neuroimaging from various national referral centers.
The scientific program will address innovative techniques in neuromodulation and functional surgery, including:
- Transcranial magnetic stimulation.
- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
- High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU).
- Intraoperative neurophysiology.
- Neuropsychological evaluation of patients who are candidates for functional surgery.
- In addition, the conference will feature discussions on advances in patient selection, current clinical applications, and future prospects in the treatment of movement disorders.
Guest speakers include professionals from the Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar, the University of Cádiz, the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and the HM CINAC Hospital.
The scientific steering committee and organizing committee are composed of:
