🎗️🔬 INiBICA participates in the 2nd Translational Conference on Precision Oncology held in Seville 🔬🎗️

👨‍🔬👩‍🔬 On February 6 and 7, the Second Translational Conference on Precision Oncology, “Through Signaling Pathways,” was held in Seville, bringing together more than 50 experts in oncology and molecular biology to discuss advances in precision medicine for cancer. 💬 The event, coordinated by Dr. Javier Salvador, Dr. Reyes Bernabé, and Dr. Michele Biscuola, included roundtable discussions and scientific presentations. Participants addressed the role of genetics and HER receptors in various types of cancer, highlighting their inhibition as a therapeutic strategy. Advances in immunotherapy for melanoma, bladder cancer, breast cancer, and small-cell lung cancer were also discussed. 🔬 Another key topic was the development of targeted therapies, with an emphasis on the RAS and PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathways, which enable personalized treatments for brain tumors and cholangiocarcinoma. In addition, the identification of patients with RET and ALK gene fusions was analyzed; these patients could benefit from innovative therapies without resorting to conventional chemotherapy or immunotherapy. 🧫 The importance of DNA repair in breast and ovarian cancer was highlighted, as it influences treatment selection. 🔬On February 13 and 14, 2025, the Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Pathological Anatomy (SEAP) was held online—a key event for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of pathological anatomy and molecular biology. 💬 At this year’s event, Dr. Raquel Romero García served as a speaker in the special session titled “The Power of Collaboration Between Biologists and Pathologists,” where she and Dr. María Isabel Moreno García presented the talk “When Genes Speak: The Role of Molecular Biology in Precision Diagnosis.” During her presentation, she highlighted the impact of molecular studies on the diagnosis and personalized treatment of patients, drawing attention to a clinical case in which molecular biology has been instrumental in achieving a better understanding of the pathology. 🔍 The event addressed highly relevant topics, such as histomolecular correlation in clinical cases and the evaluation of samples for molecular studies. ✨ Next Friday, February 21, at 10:00 a.m., the Plaza del Arenal in Jerez will be filled with solidarity for the event “Powers of Hope: Sierpinski Triangle Against Childhood Leukemia.” 🫂 This event is organized by the Colegio San José Fundación Xafer, in collaboration with a UCA physician and the lead of the “Project Relapse 0: Mathematics Against Childhood Leukemia”—led by Professor María Rosa Durán —and is supported by @asociacionporunasonrisa. 🎯 The goal of this event is to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research, particularly leukemia, the most common cancer among children. 🙏 All donations from this event will go to the Pablo Ugarte Association, which collaborates with @univcadiz and has been funding the “Recaída 0” Project for the past 5 years. 💙 JOIN US and help us build hope!
