👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ On October 29, researchers María Jesús Viñolo and José Manuel Romero, from INiBICA’s EM14 Research Group on Languages, Processes, and Healthcare Management, led an in-person training session on “Prevention of Skin Injuries and Safe Transfers for Dependent Individuals” at the School of Nursing and Physical Therapy at the University of Cádiz. 🗣️🩹 During this session, they addressed topics such as the prevention of skin lesions and wounds resulting from dependency through the use of specific protocols, and provided theoretical and technical knowledge on the safe mobilization of dependent individuals, among other topics. 💙 This training is part of INiBICA’s commitment to the continuous improvement of care quality and safety in healthcare. 🔗 More information: Instagram

Conference on the " ISCIII " Platforms Supporting R&D&I in Biomedicine and Health Sciences at the Carlos III Health Institute (ITEMAS) 🎯 From October 27 to 29, more than 500 professionals gathered in Salamanca to share advances, challenges, and synergies within the framework of the ISCIII Platforms, which are key components for promoting excellence in biomedical research within the National Health System. 👩‍🔬🧑‍🔬 INiBICA was represented by María del Carmen García Montelongo, Biobank Technician, on behalf of the ISCIII Platform for Biomodels and Biobanks; Paula Castro Morales, Projects and Innovation Technician, on behalf of ITEMAS; and Julio M. 🧬🔬 The INiBICA group CO1: INMOX (Inflammation, Nutrition, Metabolism and Oxidative Stress) participated in the 29th Human Genetics Congress of the Spanish Association of Human Genetics (AEGH), presenting an electronic poster on the analysis of biomolecular condensates as an experimental tool for the reclassification of variants of uncertain significance (VUS) in genes associated with RASopathies. 🔍 The study demonstrates the existence of a distinct cellular phenotype in patients with pathogenic variants in PTPN11, BRAF, and SOS1, supported by a high discrimination index. 🚀 These results reinforce the potential diagnostic value of condensate analysis and open new avenues for improving the functional interpretation of genetic variants in rare diseases. 🔗 More information: Instagram

👨‍🔬 Francisco Manuel Visiedo García holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, is a researcher, and has a Ph.D. in Health Sciences. He began his research career in 2011 at the Research Unit of the Hospital Universitario Puerta del Mar , Cádiz, and went on to work at research companies specializing in R&D in regenerative cell therapy and at INiBICA. Since 2023, he has served as a professor at the UCA in the Department of Human Anatomy and Embryology, teaching in the undergraduate programs in Medicine, Nursing, Physical Therapy, and Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. 🗣️ The presentation will be led by Rosa María Mateos Bernal, Full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a member of the Ateneo de Rota.
