👶👩‍⚕️ Cristina Gómez and Noelia Sánchez, nurses in the Neonatal ICU and members of the INiBICA CO20 group, led by Dr. Isabel Benavente and Dr. Simón Lubián, have been awarded second prize in the 18th “José López Barneo” National Nursing Competition, presented by the Distinguished Official College of Nursing of Jaén. 🌟🧠 This recognition was for their contribution to the study and research on “Parental Mental Health Following Preterm Birth” as the author and co-author of the paper. We’re proud that our colleague and mathematician from Cádiz, María Rosa Durán , has been awarded the Manuela Forja Prize! Algeciras hosted this year’s ceremony for the 4th Annual Manuela Forja Awards. Our colleague and scientist from Cádiz, Esther Berrocoso, has been awarded the “Ilustres Anónimas” prize by Cádiz 2024 in recognition of her work toward building a more egalitarian and compassionate #society. This year, 15 awards were given to recognize the careers of 12 women and three organizations that, “working anonymously, improve the daily lives of those around them, especially in traditionally male-dominated fields.” These awards, presented by the City Council of Cádiz and the Municipal Women’s Foundation, celebrate the contributions of women, groups, and organizations toward achieving “a more equal, just, and compassionate society.” We’re so proud! This distinction is a #recognition of organizations dedicated to research and innovation that are committed to improving working conditions for technical and research staff at the European level. The process for obtaining this recognition involves complying with 40 principles established by the European Commission in its European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct. These principles include the implementation of open and transparent hiring policies based on academic merit. At INIBICA, we conducted a situation analysis to identify strengths and weaknesses and designed a participatory action plan with 13 strategic actions to be implemented over the next five years. These actions are aimed at improving working conditions, promoting gender equality, and fostering researchers’ mobility and professional development.
